Lowther were appointed by A&H Construction to deliver all landscape construction works at Griffin Park, Desford in Leicestershire, on behalf of Gulf Ventures 2.
Overview
The project involved the soft landscaping of a new development at Griffin Park, covering extensive tree planting, woodland establishment and the planting of balancing pond areas. The scope required both ornamental and ecological planting across the site.
Works Undertaken
We planted in excess of 450 semi-mature trees across the site alongside 30,000 woodland transplants, establishing the long-term woodland and amenity planting framework for the development.
Wildflower seeding and aquatic and marginal planting were carried out to the balancing ponds to the north of the site, integrating the drainage infrastructure with the wider landscape and biodiversity objectives.
Outcomes
The contract includes a 12-month maintenance period commencing July 2023, covering establishment works across the planted areas.
