Our tree surgery services include felling and dismantling, pruning and formative shaping, pollarding, bracing and propping, crown reductions and crown lifting, and large-scale site clearance. Our arboricultural capability covers the full scope of tree management. Routine tree surgery, stump removal and vegetation clearance are delivered by NPTC-certified surgeons from all five regional offices, supported by a specialist fleet of modern plant and equipment.

For clients requiring survey and assessment services, our dedicated arboricultural surveying team is based at our Penrith head office and travels nationally. Services include BS5837 surveys, impact assessments, arboricultural method statements, development watching briefs and Visual Tree Assessments. Where standard visual inspection is not sufficient, we offer advanced diagnostic assessments including Sonic Tomography, Biomechanical Assessment and IML Resi PD (Resistograph) testing, providing detailed internal data on trunk condition and structural integrity.

What tree surgery services do you offer?
We provide a full range of arboricultural services including felling and dismantling, pruning, formative shaping, pollarding, bracing and propping, crown reductions and crown lifting, and large-scale site clearance. Our teams also handle deadwood removal, ivy management and emergency response work. Each project is scoped and planned to meet the specific requirements of the site and client.
Are your tree surgeons qualified?
Yes. All of our tree surgeons hold NPTC certification, which is the industry standard for chainsaw and arboricultural operations. Our teams also receive ongoing training in safe working practices, and we hold NHSS 18A, 18B and 18C accreditation for arboricultural works on the strategic road network. We are additionally certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
Can you handle large-scale tree felling and clearance?
Yes. We regularly deliver large-scale felling and clearance projects for infrastructure, construction and development clients. Our specialist fleet, which includes crane and excavator-mounted tree shears, whole-tree chippers, harvesters and forwarders, allows us to work efficiently across sites of all sizes. We plan and programme large-scale works to integrate with wider project timelines and minimise disruption.
Do you work near buildings and structures?
Yes. We frequently carry out tree surgery in constrained environments, including close to buildings, boundary walls, overhead lines and underground services. Our teams use sectional dismantling techniques and mobile elevated work platforms to work safely in restricted spaces. Risk assessments are completed for every job, and we coordinate with site managers and utility providers as needed.
What about protected trees and Tree Preservation Orders?
We work with trees subject to Tree Preservation Orders and those in conservation areas on a regular basis. Where a TPO is in place, consent from the local planning authority is required before most works can proceed. Our surveying team can advise on the regulatory requirements and, where needed, prepare and submit applications on your behalf to ensure compliance.
